Lesson 3.40,3: Year 3
Everyday Grammer: ”Words that are coming and going.”
As I understand it only the slangs words are going and coming according to the circumstances of situations. Every generation has its own slangs, Slang is meant to come and go. very informal language or specific words used by a particular group of people.
For Example, the phrase,” groovy” was a popular slang term in the 1960s, but it is not commonly used today. Similarly, the phrase, ” cool beam” was a popular phrase in the 1990s, but it is not used commonly today.
Dear teacher,
Lesson 3.40,3: Year 3
Everyday Grammer: ”Words that are coming and going.”
“coming to” is a considerable distance such that there is no expectation that they are presently in route, then, “going to come” is more appropriate. However, if the expectation is that the person is already in route, then “going to come” would give the wrong impression.
Sometimes, adding “going” gives emphasis to one’s determination that they will in fact be coming.
Thank you.
