You’ve probably heard the expression, “happiness is a choice.” Well, I’ll tell you, it’s a habit. A habit that you can build on and make a lifestyle.
These are 10 habits you need to adopt so that you can have a happy life.
Habit #1: Be nice to everyone you meet.
Every time you interact with someone, smile and be nice. Whether you’re talking to a cashier, waiter, taxi driver, etc. If you don’t like the person, say nothing. Don’t even think about it. Just smile and be nice. It will go a long way.
Habit #2: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
This goes hand in hand with the previous habit. If you keep your friends close, you won’t have to worry about them spreading negative rumors about you. The same goes for your enemies. Don’t let them get too close.
Habit #3: Always finish what you start.
Do you ever find yourself starting a project and then getting side tracked? Don’t be like that. Always finish the project you started. It will make you feel good and it will give you something to show for.
Habit #4: Know what you want and take action.
You’ve got to know what you want before you can achieve it. This is the most important habit in the world. If you don’t know what you want, then you’ll never achieve it. It’s not about knowing what you want, it’s about taking action.
Habit #5: Do what you love.
This is by far the easiest habit to follow. If you love what you’re doing, you won’t feel like you’re working.
Habit #6: Do what you’re passionate about.
I know what you’re thinking. “Oh, that’s so easy. I just need to do what I’m passionate about.” That’s true, but only if you’re truly passionate about what you’re doing. If you’re not passionate about what you’re doing, then you’re wasting your time.
Habit #7: Never stop learning.
The greatest thing about being alive is that you’re still learning. There’s always new things to learn, and there’s always more to learn. If you stop learning, you’re going to stagnate.
Habit #8: Work with people you respect.
It’s a very simple concept. If you respect the people you work with, you’ll work harder and you’ll do better. You’ll also have a much happier workplace.
Habit #9: Be happy.
You can’t have a happy life without being happy. If you’re always unhappy, you’re just going to end up being unhappy. If you want to change your life, you’ve got to be happy first.
Habit #10: Remember to live.
This last habit might seem silly, but it’s the most important one of all. If you don’t remember to live, you’ll end up just existing.
