Lesson 3.35.3: Year 3
Everyday Grammar, ”Understanding fast Talker”.
It is hard to understand fast talker, sometimes it is hard to figure out that what words they are saying or what they really mean, that’s why knowing the difference between hearing and listening is essential.
Some speakers run their words and sentences together without pausing, which causes several issues. Especially for new learners get confused and feel embarrassment. It happened to me so many times.
Then I tell them, I’m sorry I can’t keep up, you are talking too fast for me. But it is possible to train our listening skill. Toung twisters are also great warm up tool for when we are about to talk to others and want to speed up our talking speed.
Many other tips to help us, for example… practice exercises, enunciate or pronounce well, phrase carefully, find a rhythm. Remember practice makes perfect! As we become more comfortable with these techniques, we will find it easier to understand fast talker.
Dear teacher,
Lesson 3.35.3: Year 3
Everyday Grammar, ”Understanding fast Talker”.
Mostly native speakers always so fast, they use short form pronunciation, combination words, squeeze shorten,
Drop sounds, combine and link sound that make listeners are difficult to understand what they are talking.
I think it’s important to listen for key grammar words like be, have, do, to, and will and try to understand the whole meaning and pronunciation as well.
Thank you.
