Enjoy life by making things happen.
What does it mean to be happy? Most of us would agree that we want to enjoy life. But what does that really mean? What does happiness really look like?
When I ask people this question, they tend to think about things like a job they love, or an awesome partner, or maybe even a new house.
But none of these things define a life well lived. They’re all just ingredients, and in order to truly enjoy life, you need to make things happen.
We tend to define success in terms of material things like money and stuff, but I’ve found that a true life well lived is a life full of adventure and experiences.
I’ve written a few articles about this topic, and I’ve got a bunch of other posts planned for 2017 that will explore this topic further.
But first, let’s talk about what happiness really looks like.
STEP 1: Make It Happen
In order to enjoy life, you need to make things happen. In fact, if you don’t make things happen, you’re not going to enjoy anything.
So where does the idea of “making things happen” come from?
Well, in reality, it comes from a combination of your past experiences and the circumstances of your present.
STEP 2: Make It Happen Again and Again
When you’re making things happen, you’re going to want to keep doing it over and over again. The reason why is simple: If you keep making things happen, eventually something is going to go wrong.
And when something goes wrong, you need to fix it. So you need to make things happen again.
STEP 3: Make It Happen Every Time
Finally, the trick is to make it happen every time. The idea here is that you can’t force yourself to enjoy life. You can’t force yourself to make things happen. And you can’t force yourself to make things happen every time.
You have to do those things on your own.
In short, if you want to enjoy life, you need to make things happen. You need to take action.
