How to Be More Productive (Article 2)

To become a more productive person, you need to remove distractions from your life.

When I was younger, I used to spend hours online looking at funny pictures and playing games. In the process, I lost focus on the task at hand. That’s why I stopped playing games and started focusing on productivity.

In the last 2 years, I’ve found that having a strong productivity mindset has allowed me to accomplish more in less time. Here are some tips for being more productive.

STEP 1: Turn off Your Email

This might seem counterintuitive, but turning off your email can actually help you be more productive.

When you check your email every few minutes, it disrupts your day-to-day routine. This makes it harder to focus on your work. To stay focused, turn off your email and set aside specific times to check your emails.

STEP 2: Stop Checking Your Phone

If you’re constantly checking your phone, you’re likely spending too much time looking at other people’s lives instead of living yours.

Most people think that checking their phones while they’re working is harmless. However, when you’re on the phone, you’re often distracted by what you see on the screen.

To stop checking your phone, put it in another room.

STEP 3: Find a Focus Spot

To be more productive, you need to find a place in your home where you can focus on your work.

Find a spot that’s quiet and free of distractions. If you have trouble finding a place to focus, try using a whiteboard. It can give you the sense of a classroom, which helps to keep you focused.

STEP 4: Start With the Most Important Task

If you start working on something you don’t feel passionate about, it’s going to be hard to focus on your work. Instead, start with the most important task. This helps you stay motivated because you’re focusing on an important task.

STEP 5: Break Down Your Biggest Tasks Into Smaller Ones

Sometimes, it’s easier to break down big tasks into smaller ones.

This allows you to focus on one task at a time. If you do this, you’ll be more likely to finish your task.

STEP 6: Work From Home

Working from home can also help you be more productive.

Working from home gives you the freedom to choose when and where you want to work. You can wake up and go straight to your desk without being interrupted.

STEP 7: Use a Pomodoro Technique

This technique involves working for 25 minutes, taking a 5-minute break, and repeating this cycle for another 25 minutes.

It works by forcing you to concentrate for short bursts of time. This helps you focus on one task at a time, instead of getting distracted by the many things that can come up during the day.

STEP 8: Avoid Distractions

When you’re trying to be more productive, avoid distractions.

Distractions like social media sites, TV shows, and even certain foods can make it hard to focus on your work.

STEP 9: Learn to Say No

One of the biggest productivity killers is saying yes to things.

This causes you to work on tasks that aren’t important.

To become more productive, you need to learn how to say no. This is a skill that you can develop over time.

STEP 10: Practice Self-Discipline

You can’t be productive if you don’t practice self-discipline.

It takes discipline to stick to your goals and complete your tasks on time.
