“Positive” is a word that seems to have become an epidemic. We’ve all been guilty of using it too much. But there is a time and place for positivity. How do you know when you’re being too positive? Here are a few tips for how to use positive affirmations and be more positive.
STEP 1: Choose Your Words Wisely
There’s a difference between a positive statement and a positive affirmation.
A positive affirmation is a statement that describes something about yourself that you want to achieve. For example, “I am a loving person.” This statement tells others something about yourself and what you want to achieve.
A positive statement is more along the lines of, “I am happy.” This statement tells others what you feel and what you want to achieve. It doesn’t tell others what you want to achieve.
STEP 2: Focus on the Positive
The world is a terrible place. Bad things happen every day. Even if you think you’re positive, you can still focus on the negative things in your life.
But when you focus on the positive things that are happening in your life, you’ll feel a lot better about it. So try to be more positive in your life by focusing on the good things in your life.
STEP 3: Be Grateful
Gratitude is a powerful emotion.
If you focus on the positive, you will also feel a lot better about yourself.
You can take a moment and write down three things that you are grateful for. Then, spend a few minutes every day thinking about the things you are grateful for.
The power of gratitude is real.
